Bob was recognized as the 2001 Top Producer at Edward H. Brownfield Associates prior to forming Bob Kahn Realty & Investment in 2002, where he is president and principal broker. Bob is a CCIM, an internationally recognized designation that signifies the highest level of knowledge and achievement in commercial real estate.

Patience and keen listening skills, a strong sense of integrity, respect for both sides, and a not so gentle push at the right moment blend to make Bob an astute negotiator, someone known for getting the deal done for his clients. He has successfully represented a wide variety of national and local concerns in their greater Charlottesville commercial real estate decisions for Office, Industrial, Retail, Commercial Land, and income producing Investment properties.

Bob's expertise in Seller Representation covers a wide range of important area properties. He has successfully marketed a wide variety of multi-million dollar Investment and Owner-User properties, from fully leased investment properties, to land development opportunities, to complicated sale/leasebacks, to lease-up then sell transactions, each at attractive multiples for his Seller clients.

Acting as Exclusive Leasing Agent for property owners seeking Landlord Representation Bob has a highly respected reputation in the market for getting vacant or partially vacant buildings leased up, even in the most difficult of market environments. Landlords deeply appreciate Bob’s ongoing dialog with them as well as his dedication to their goals and his hard work on their behalf. He is early in recognizing changing market conditions and active in recommending raising lease rates in a strengthening market, or easing rates in a softening environment.

Tenants deeply benefit from Bob's Tenant Representation. While touring a wide variety of properties is important, Bob's inside knowledge of current lease transactions helps him negotiate favorable lease terms for his tenant clients. Local, national and international concerns such as Von Holtzbrink Publishing and the NRAO (National Radio Astronomy Observatory) are among many concerns that call on Bob to help with their leasing needs in the greater Charlottesville marketplace.

Bob's Buyer Representation expertise combines current sales knowledge with a strong understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the variety of owner/user and Investment opportunities in our market. Bob represents a variety of buyers, from prominent local buyers to divisions of Fortune 500 companies, in transactions ranging from the acquisition of important Downtown Mall properties to securing commercial land for corporations expanding in our marketplace.

Bob is deeply involved in our local business and civic community. He is very active in the Blue Ridge Mountains Rotary Club where he is the immediate Past President of the club. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Charlottesville Community Jewish Day School.  Additionally Bob has served two terms on the Board of Directors of the VPTC (Virginia Piedmont Technology Council), has served in the fund raising effort for the local chapter of the IRC (International Rescue Committee), and is a graduate of the 1999 Leadership Charlottesville Program.
